Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision

It was with huge excitement that I recently heard the fabulous news that my application for a major Grants for the Arts Award from Arts Council England was successful. I am most grateful to Arts Council England, British Council, the many partners and artistic collaborators who are and will be involved in this project, for your tremendous creative support. I shall look forward to sharing Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision with you during 2014.

Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision is a multi-cultural collaborative project between UK and Middle East communities and arts organizations which will consider perceptions as to disability, culture, diversity and openness about impairment. An exhibition of artworks, animated digital films and an extensive residency outreach workshop programme in UK and Middle East, underpinned by themes relating to fragility and resilience, directed by Rachel Gadsden in collaboration with artists in UK and Middle East, will promote a blueprint of positive cultural values for communities and individuals who are addressing chronic health conditions and dealing with the politics and mythologies surrounding disability.

Al Noor ~ Fragile Vision is created in partnership with Arts Council England, British Council UK, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, DadaFest 2014, the Museum of Islamic Art, Qatar, Al Riwaq Gallery, Bahrain, and Liverpool Arab Arts Festival (LAAF).
